Emory College Learning Design AI Fellows

The Emory College Learning Design AI Fellows program is a learning community for faculty who want to deepen their understanding of generative AI in teaching and learning. Participants will examine instructional uses of generative AI and explore its implications for assessment and academic integrity. A key outcome of this program will be reworking an assignment that will be implemented fall semester to either integrate AI intentionally or strengthen it against inappropriate AI use. The summer session will follow a flipped classroom model where the cohort will complete short asynchronous modules in Canvas followed by one-hour synchronous sessions on Zoom each week during the month of June. The group will reconvene three times in the fall to support implementation of the redesigned assignments and will present outcomes at a symposium in January. This program is offered to ECAS faculty from all disciplines. Space is limited, and applicants must be scheduled to teach a course fall semester. A stipend is provided upon completion of all program components.

AI Fellows applications are currently closed and will reopen in 2027.

Applicants Should

Hold a permanent teaching appointment in fall 2027.

Have demonstrated interest or early experimentation with generative AI.

Commit to all summer synchronous meetings, three fall check ins, and the spring symposium.

Selection Priorities

We aim to build a cohort of 10 to 15 faculty who show readiness to implement, a reflective and experimental mindset, and representation across disciplines.
